ASHRAE Chapter 135 - REGION IX
About the Idaho Chapter
The Idaho Chapter of ASHRAE has served the Gem State’s HVAC&R community since 1980, connecting the people who design, build, and operate Idaho’s buildings.
Our chapter was born in 1979, when southern Idaho members — then assigned to the Utah chapter — set out to build a home of their own. Chartered in Boise on September 12, 1980 with 86 people in attendance, Chapter 135 has grown into an active community of engineers, contractors, manufacturers’ representatives, and building professionals. Today we host monthly technical meetings, an annual conference, and student and research programs across the Treasure Valley.
A healthy and sustainable built environment for all — advanced right here in Idaho.
To serve Idaho’s HVAC&R community by advancing the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration through education, research, and connection.
Excellence, integrity, collaboration, and volunteerism — the standards we hold in our work and our chapter.
Optional Subtitle
Creating a healthy and sustainable built environment for all.
Our Mission
To serve humanity by advancing the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration.
As Idaho’s local chapter, we carry out that mission through monthly technical programs, distinguished lecturers, our annual technical conference, and hands-on support for research promotion and student activities throughout the state.
Our Vision
A healthy and sustainable built environment for all.
We work toward buildings that are efficient, comfortable, and resilient — and toward an Idaho engineering community with the knowledge and connections to deliver them.
Our Strategy
Grow local expertise, invest in the next generation, and strengthen the community of practice.
We do this by bringing national-caliber technical content to Boise, funding ASHRAE research through chapter fundraising, supporting student chapters and Young Engineers in ASHRAE, and creating spaces where Idaho’s HVAC&R professionals learn from each other.
Our Values
Excellence, integrity, collaboration, volunteerism, and lifelong learning.
Our chapter runs on volunteers. We hold our technical work to the highest standard, share knowledge openly, and welcome everyone with a stake in Idaho’s built environment — from students to seasoned principals.
