Here’s what’s happening in October
October brings two ways to get involved: a lunch panel on how design, construction, and operations fit together, and a hands-on volunteer night with Young Engineers in ASHRAE. Society has a full slate of live virtual training this month too, and if you missed September’s cornhole tournament, we’ve got the results.

October chapter meeting
Contractor Panel Discussion: Bridging Design, Construction, and Operations
Contractors from the mechanical, refrigeration, controls, and construction trades sit down with engineers, designers, and owners to talk through what’s shaping projects today.
|
On the table: collaboration between stakeholders, project delivery, rework, workforce development, commissioning and startup, emerging technology, and controls integration. It’s an open, conversational format, so bring your questions and your own lessons learned.
You’ll come away able to:
- Recognize the challenges contractors run into during design, construction, commissioning, and startup
- Apply strategies for better collaboration between contractors, engineers, and owners
- Track emerging industry trends, technologies, and workforce initiatives
- Use practical approaches to improve efficiency, reduce rework, and deliver better outcomes
