Share The September meeting will be a demonstration tour of the Center for Ecohydraulics Research Stream Laboratory (CERSL) at the University of Idaho Building in Boise. The CERSL is a $2M+ facility with multi-university participation; it features a large-scale sediment flume to allow fundamental and applied research of processes in headwater streams and mountain rivers with a unique combination of scale, instrumentation, computer-control and the planned ability to interface with researchers through the internet. For more information about the Stream Lab please visit: https://www.uidaho.edu/engr/research/cer/research/stream-lab Speaker: Dr. Budwig is the Director of Engineering at the University of Idaho in Boise; He is also the director of the Center for Ecohydraulics Stream Laboratory. Dr. Budwig is a professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Idaho in the area of experimental fluid dynamics. Dr. Budwig received his doctorate from Johns Hopkins University in 1985 and has worked as a guest researcher in several laboratories in the United States and Canada since that time. His areas of specialization include experimental and theoretical fluid dynamics; turbulence; optical, acoustic, and thermal measurements techniques. Dr. Budwig has taught extensively in the experimental methods area including required undergraduate courses as well as a specialized graduate level course on the subject of experimental methods in fluid dynamics.
