DESCRIPTION:Location: U of I Water Center Building 322 E. Front Street Boise\, ID 83702 \nShare Title: Shifting Trends of Refrigerants and Applications Speaker: Nate Torres Description: Nate will provide an overview of the different types of refrigerants (FREON\, ammonia\, and CO2) and compare the application and pros/cons for different refrigerants. He will also give a big picture of the regulatory requirements for various refrigerants\, as well as provide an overview of new technologies changing the industry\, including low-charge refrigeration systems. Speaker Bio: Nate Torres is the Operations Manager at Resource Compliance where he is responsible for sales and marketing\, as well as assigning and overseeing the work performed by the Process Safety Consultants and other staff. His background in the agriculture industry gives him a keen understanding of what it takes to make a successful business in California. He is also responsible for expanding RMP/PSM/CalARP\, CARB RMP\, SPCC\, and HMBP consulting services. He also provides expertise in the preparation and implementation of Risk and Process Safety Management programs\, Refrigerant Management Programs\, Spill Prevention\, Control\, and Countermeasure Plans\, and Hazardous Materials Business Plans. Nate graduated from California State University Fresno with a degree in Business Finance. Additionally\, he is a Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO) through the Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association (RETA) and a certified SP001 AST Inspector through the Steel Tank Institute (STI).
